Transmitting on DAB via Resonance Extra

Added this week – another way to listen to every episode: ResonanceEXTRA is broadcasting Akiha on Tuesday nights in Brighton on DAB, or via their website anywhere else in the world – or catch up on the ResonanceEXTRA Mixcloud page.

You can still hear every episode and all the extras on our Listen page, or via iTunes and Stitcher, of course.

We're also delighted to announce that Akiha Den Den has been invited to take part in Sound Of Story – an exploration of sound and music in storytelling – on 18th November in Brighton Dome Studio. The line-up for the symposium and workshops includes sound artists and practitioners from the realms of film, theatre, radio and games. A real honour – more details to come, but the Sound Of Story website is worth checking out. Maybe see you there?

Bonus OST - With video!

In between fortnightly episodes of Akiha Den Den we are sharing excerpts from the soundtrack.

This week, a piece of music taken from episode 2, and a scene introducing the thought mining cockroach, SIlph. It features heavy use of the EMS Synthi A, a 1971 synth from the pioneering British company that supplied instruments to the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and various psychedelic rock bands of the time. Its sounds turned up in many early episodes of Dr Who (most notably Sea Devils with Jon Pertwee) introducing young minds to some quite challenging sounds!

Get the audio by subscribing to our podcast feed at iTunes or Soundcloud.

This video features video feedback effects generated by Ian Helliwell and manipulated by Simon.
